Clarinet Reed Tip

Make playing a reed instrument easier! When the humidity is low, reach for reeds that are newer and will hold water easily. When the humidity is higher, reach for reeds that are more broken in so that they don't get too water-logged and unresponsive while playing. Have several "vintages" of reeds with you at all times, and you will be ready for any weather conditions!

For your beginning students, teach them tonguing the same day that you teach them to start blowing the clarinet. Don't wait...the sooner that students start on correct tonguing, the easier it will be for them!
